My story
Katie grew up in regional NSW, and remains a country girl at heart. In her early years she worked as a Paediatric Cancer Nurse before raising her family of 4 children. Katie is now based in Sydney, her children have grown up and now is the perfect time for her to open her online flower shop, The Language of Flowers. The concept behind the name is to create fresh, unique blooms by adapting the flower meanings to each of her designs. Her inspiration comes from the book The Language of Flowers, by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Katie is also a musician, international film composer and a keen photographer.
Each arrangement is created to tell a story reflecting the meanings of flowers. Katie hopes by attributing a definition to each flower, every bouquet delivered will send a special message.

All flowers are handpicked from the Sydney Flower Markets. Katie also supports the local flower growers to support the industry here in NSW. It all begins with an idea and Katie hopes that her clients will share their stories so she can interpret them in the making of beautiful, contemporary, elegant designs.
